Atty. Oliver "Oli" Lozano

The legal counsel of the late dictator
Ferdinand
Marcos and first senatorial candidate to file his certificate of
candidacy.
In his certificate, Marcos lawyer Oliver Lozano said he would be
running
under the banner of the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan, the ruling party
during the
Marcos regime. Lozano filed his form at 8:55 a.m. making him the first
candidate to register his candidacy and he was followed minutes later
by
radio announcer and candidate Melchor Chavez, also a KBL member. Both
Lozano
and Chavez ran but lost in previous senatorial derbies.
 Lozano Complaint
It will be recalled that Lozano filed an impeachment complaint against
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in June 2005 in connection with the
President’s supposedly wiretapped conversations with former COMELEC
commissioner Virgilio Garcillano.
